Cody Browning Charged with Murder Following Fatal Shooting

Cody Browning, 32, was charged with second-degree murder and other crimes in connection with the death of 28-year-old Jacob Rowden. Police say the shooting happened during an argument about a stolen cell phone

According to court documents, Browning was not at the scene when police arrived, but he confessed to a family member that he had been involved in the shooting. Witnesses reported to police that Browning accused Rowden of stealing his cellphone.

Browning's ex-girlfriend reportedly tried to convince him to turn himself in a few hours after the shooting. Browning in return assaulted his ex-girlfriend and added a domestic assault charge to his charges for second-degree murder, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, and tampering with a motor vehicle.
